The „SCHNITZEL UNU“, a woodcarving knife specially designed for children, is just as good as its larger counterparts for adults! What’s more, it is also perfectly suited as an all-round outdoor knife.

Weight and size – perfect for children’s hands

In order to make the SCHNITZEL a good children’s woodcarving knife suitable for various age groups, its weight and size have been optimised so that it is equally comfortable to use for younger and older children.

The knife’s handle

The non-slip, ergonomically contoured G-10 scales make for an extremely sturdy handle that is easy and, above all, safe for children (aged approx. 4-10 years) to hold. The bright grip colours are quite appealing to children and make the knife easier to find if dropped outdoors.

Material and properties

Should the SCHNITZEL get forgotten overnight in the damp grass, no worries: it is entirely made from rust-free materials.The knife has a „full tang“ construction, a particularly sturdy and durable design where the blade is made of one continuous piece of steel that runs the full length of the handle as well. The Schnitzel UNU is a stainless steel knife which shows excellent edge-holding properties and is easy to re-sharpen. It comes in a stonewashed finish.

In order to improve safety during use, the tip of the blade is rounded to make it suitable for children. However, the edge of the blade is sharp.

Kydex sheath

As an added bonus to the features of this outdoor knife for children, it comes complete with a heavy-duty, virtually indestructible sheath made from Kydex material. It has a removable belt loop, fits around the knife like a glove, thus ensuring safe carry, and is impervious to water, mud and cold temperatures. A Paracord lanyard in the same colour as the grip completes the kit.
